Guys get eaten, the cyclops gets blinded, you know the story. In case anyone's interested, this was done with some plain letter-size paper, some el cheapo watercolors, a scanner, along with Adobe Photoshop and After Effects. This is what can happen when you let young people do animation. Even if they frequently refuse to go to bed.

This is an AoM cinematic made for the Continuous Cinematic Competition. It is about the return of Odysseus at Ithaca. It starts right after the suitors all try to string Odysseus' bow. The theme was Famous Movie Scene. Game engine made by Ensemble Studios, published by Microsoft Games. The song is ΔΕ Σ'AΦΗΝΩ - de s'afino (I won't let you go) by Giannis Parios (ΓΙΑΝΝΗΣ ΠΑΡΙΟΣ). The Cyclopes (Κύκλωπες) were mythological creatures who had one eye. In Homer's Odyssey, the Greek hero Odysseus (Ὀδυσσεύς) lands on an island and encounters a Cyclops (Κύκλωψ) called Polyphemus (Πολύφημος). The cyclops closes his cave with a boulder, and then proceeds to eat Odysseus's crew. What the Greek hero does is give him strong wine, and when the Cyclops fell asleep, the Greeks gouged Polyphemus's eye. To escape, they grabbed on to the wool of sheep as they were allowed out to eat. This event earned the wrath of Poseidon, who tried to take revenge on Odysseus, which led to his other trials and adventures.

OOOOOOODYSSEUS!!! Told by a prophet not to harm the flock, or else endless punishment around the clock. Oh why such this relentless trickery? How dastardly can Poseiden be? Traveling all the way into Hade's lair, finds nothing but distraught, pain and despair. Frightened and scared from all he has shown, all he wants to do is find his way home. Sleeping with Circe gives him plenty delight, unfortunately for him it's only one night. Sailing forward into treacherous waters, nothing awaits the men but endless slaughters. Sea witches, sea monsters threaten the men, always something horrible again and again. Zeus sends down a frightening spite, he just can't seem to make this right. It's Oooodysseus! He went looking for the palace when he lost his way, but then a young little girl came and saved his day. That young little girl was Athena in disguise who showed him where to go to meet the real wise. Odysseus!!! He is such a player, he is so famous he could be the next mayor.
